Customizing Your Chatbot Appearance

Updated March 19, 20264 sections

Accessing appearance settings

Go to your chatbot's Go Live tab. The left panel shows all appearance settings, and the right panel shows a live preview that updates in real-time as you make changes.

Colors and branding

Customize these visual elements:

  • Primary color — Used for the chat bubble, send button, and header
  • Background color — The chat window background
  • Chat bubble position — Bottom-right or bottom-left of the screen
  • Avatar — Upload a custom image or use the default AI avatar

Choose colors that match your brand. The preview updates instantly so you can see exactly how it'll look.

Welcome message and quick replies

Set a welcome message that greets visitors when they open the chat widget. Keep it friendly and specific to your business.

Good example: "Hi! I'm the SmileDental assistant. I can help with appointment booking, insurance questions, or general inquiries. How can I help?"

Add quick reply buttons that appear below the welcome message. These are pre-set prompts that visitors can click instead of typing. Common choices:

  • "Book an appointment"
  • "What are your hours?"
  • "How much does it cost?"
  • "Talk to a human"

Widget content

Customize the text displayed in the widget:

  • Widget title — Shown in the chat header
  • Input placeholder — The hint text in the message input box
  • Footer text — Optional text below the chat area
