Connecting Channels (Telegram, WhatsApp, SMS)

Available channels

Your AI chatbot can respond on multiple channels, all using the same knowledge base and personality:

  • Website Widget — The default embed on your site
  • Telegram — Connect a Telegram bot
  • WhatsApp — Via WhatsApp Business API
  • SMS — Via Twilio phone numbers
  • Slack — Connect to your team's workspace

Setting up Telegram

To connect Telegram:

  1. Open Telegram and search for @BotFather
  2. Send /newbot and follow the prompts to create a bot
  3. Copy the API token BotFather gives you
  4. In FrontlineHQ, go to Go Live → Channels → Telegram
  5. Paste your token and click Connect

Your Telegram bot will now respond using your chatbot's knowledge base.

Setting up WhatsApp

WhatsApp requires a WhatsApp Business API account. To connect:

  1. Set up a Meta Business account and WhatsApp Business API
  2. In FrontlineHQ, go to Go Live → Channels → WhatsApp
  3. Enter your WhatsApp phone number and API credentials
  4. Click Connect and verify the webhook

SMS setup

SMS integration uses Twilio. To set up:

  1. Create a Twilio account and get a phone number
  2. In FrontlineHQ, go to Go Live → Channels → SMS
  3. Enter your Twilio Account SID, Auth Token, and phone number
  4. Click Connect

SMS responses are automatically kept concise (under 160 characters when possible).
